In this provocative one-part ceremony, we’ll explore the symbolism and significance of Cygnus, referred to as Hiu in Hawaiian and Mū, in relation to human galactic, material, and spiritual existence, and consider how this seemingly small constellation may be as profoundly huge, colossal, and important as any other in the heavens. Host Ke’oni Hanalei will draw on Mū doctrines, Hawaiian lore, and broader cultural understandings of Cygnus to shape a thoughtful and comprehensive assessment of what, exactly, Cygnus might truly represent.

In the Mū Doctrines, Cygnus was once a part of the Draco constellation. At some point in human history, Cygnus became dismembered. Lets explore this event with care. Why did this happen? And, what have been the consequences? Upon our investigation, is there anything we can do to reunite these two and what could that symbolize for humanity? Furthermore, what could a reunion mean for the entire Universe?

This particular ceremony, albeit totally independent, is a continuation of sorts from our previous series THE CRUX OF THE MATTER. At the completion of that series, Cygnus became incredibly loud, beckoning us to investigate the song of the swan and disclosing something almost impossible to grasp. On May 17th, we’ll make that deliberate attempt to listen more closely and explore what the music may reveal.
